Pregnancy, Birth, and Early postpartum are very special times for a woman and her family. It is filled with emotions, uncertainty, excitement, joy, pain, and pleasure. These times warrant a lot of care, love, and support from the extended family and community. With so many nuclear families living far away from their roots, that support can be harder to come by. In addition, giving birth in may be complicated by technology and hospital policies.
Profession of doulas developed to provide non-judgemental help and cover the possible gaps in support systems for new and budding families. I am honored to be involved in this line of work. My other passion, photography, is a joyful complement to memorializing this precious time.
